Our Care Team

All of our Care Team Members hold either a Doctorate or Master’s degree in a counseling or sports psychology field and are licensed or license-eligible therapists (PsyD, LMHC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, CPMC, RD, CSSD, RDN), but they provide subclinical support NOT therapy through Koomba.

  • Phoebe is a therapist, coach, and mentor who specializes in treating anxiety, perfectionism, phobias, and OCD, utilizing treatments based in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and inference based therapy (I-CBT).

    Phoebe was a varsity athlete at Dartmouth College playing four years on the women's ice hockey team. She worked as a college ice hockey coach for 10 years and spent 6 years coaching for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite girls ice hockey program. She holds an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University and is a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts

  • Dr. Lucetry B. Dalton-Trusty is a Clinical Psychologist in Detroit, MI. She holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MA and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington D.C. Campus. She also completed a two-year Postdoctoral Psychology fellowship at McLaren-Flint hospital.

    Dr. Dalton-Trusty is currently employed as a Clinical Psychologist in Detroit, MI and is the co-founder, CEO, and Director of Mental Health Development for The Process Academy, LLP. She is also an Assistant Professor, Clinical Supervisor, and Director of the Mental Health & Wellness Clinic at Wayne State University. In addition to being included in a national network directory of licensed mental health service providers for the National Basketball Players Association, The Detroit Lions Health & Wellness Team, and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, she has also obtained Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology in 40+ states from the PSYPACT Commission.

    Dr. Dalton-Trusty is a published researcher and author. A renowned mental health professional, she has been afforded various gracious opportunities that have allowed her to provide psychology services to various organizations nationwide as well as advocate for & teach others the importance of positive mental health development.

  • Allie is Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and mental performance consultant with a master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. Allie lives and works in Denver, Colorado in private practice at Walker Psychological Services providing sport psychology and mental health services. Allie specializes in sport and performance counseling, anxiety, identity/transition work, body image distress, managing perfectionism, disordered eating and eating disorders, etc.

    Allie has worked with a variety of athletes ranging from high school to professional and Olympic athletes. Allie has a specific passion for working with student-athletes. Allie applies her knowledge and awareness of the complexities of athletic culture and being an elite athlete to her work. No matter the area of focus, Allie takes an athlete-centered approach and views athletes in relation to their environment in her collaboration with both individual athletes and athletic organizations/systems.

  • Jessica is a Lebanese-born psychotherapist, immigrant, author, and advocate of psychedelic assisted therapy. Prior to their work in therapy, Jessica graduated from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and joined Airbnb where she managed international strategy, operations and customer love.

  • Sam is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with a master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Colorado College.

    Sam’s passion for Sport and Performance Psychology stems from her career in competitive gymnastics, collegiate diving, and teaching yoga and meditation. She is a big believer that physical performance and mental wellbeing are intimately related.

    Sam specializes in working with gymnasts, divers, and masters level athletes ages 40+ to help them overcome mental barriers to experience more focus and passion in sport and at work.

  • Lauren Gunter is a mental performance consultant with a master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. She is the founder of Aspen Mental Performance, established in 2019.

    Based in Parker, CO, Lauren has spent the last six years deeply involved with Cherry Creek High School Hockey, starting as a mental performance consultant with three boys teams, to now serving as the head coach of the first-ever Cherry Creek High School Girls Hockey team.

    In addition to her work with Cherry Creek High School, Lauren is actively engaged in expanding girls' hockey and mental wellness resources throughout Colorado. Collaborating closely with the Colorado Avalanche organization, she is at the forefront of initiatives aimed at enhancing opportunities for female athletes in hockey.

    With a dedication to empowering individuals to reach their full potential, Lauren's approach centers on values alignment and value-oriented action.

  • Isaac is a mental performance consultant with a master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology and is currently in the final year of receiving his doctorate (PhD) in Counseling Psychology.

    He specializes in performance counseling where he improves performance execution through a careful examination of the mental, technical, tactical, and physical pillars of his clients. At the professional competitive level, he has delivered over 500 hours of individual and team sessions addressing performance anxiety, perfectionism, communications optimization, relaxation, team-building, conflict management, and stressors outside of the performance domain that may be affecting overall performance.

    In his sessions, clients gain a greater understanding of the capabilities within themselves, learn how to maximize their potential through mental and physical maintenance, manage and benefit from relationships with peers, and begin to feel their actions intentionally build toward their goals.

  • Rachel Shinnick is a doctoral student at UMass Boston with a research focus in collegiate athlete mental health and psychosocial recovery from sport injury.

    She obtained her Ed.M. in Counseling and Sport Psychology from Boston University. She has a passion for mental health awareness, sport and performance, trauma-informed care, and sport injury/rehabilitation.

    Rachel works specifically with student-athletes. Additionally, she is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and works with teams and individual athletes on enhancing their mental performance.

  • Brett Morrell is a somatic therapist that specializes in somatic body based, trauma informed approaches to healing and transforming chronic and traumatic stress. He works with Special Forces Veterans in group support sessions and specializes in working with men.

    Brett captained the Squash team at Hamilton College and is a current MS candidate at Montana State University.

  • Berk is a psychotherapist based in Oakland, CA. With previous experience in higher education, Berk specializes in working with anxiety, queer identity and gender exploration, developmental and intergenerational trauma, relationship issues, and spiritual integration.

  • Cat is Assistant Director of Boston College’s Sports Medicine Department and provides sport-based therapy to both group and individual clients through KOOMBA.

    Cat is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned an Bachelor’s in Social Work from Indiana University and a MS in Social Work from Boston College.

  • Emily is a mental performance consultant who received an MA in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. Emily currently lives in Denver, Colorado and is pursuing her CMPC. Emily's consulting revolves around helping athletes cultivate mental skills they can employ to reduce performance anxiety and increase performance excellence.

    Emily played soccer in college at Connecticut College. Emily's experience as an elite youth and collegiate athlete inspired her passion for pursuing a career in Sport Psychology. Her own personal struggles with performance anxiety and coping with the pressures of being a student-athlete are what fuel her desire to help other athletes have a more satisfying sport experience. Emily utilizes a person-centered approach to consulting – taking into account the whole person rather than just the "athlete". Her work revolves around helping athletes focus on elements of their game that are within their control rather than expending limited energy sources on uncontrollable factors.
